Growing up in the Memphis area, I am proud to call the Bluff City home. My endearing relationship with this city has impacted my work in such an iconic way. I have spent the past 10 years teaching art and strive to create and learn something new for myself each day. I find it only appropriate that the city founded on the river and built on cotton should be captured by water on cotton fibers, showing its rich textures through bold colors. Capturing Memphis’ architectural and cultural landscape with such vibrancy reflects both the city’s rich history and culture. The goal of my work is for Memphians to be reminded of all the things good in the Home of the Blues when they see these pieces.
